Meet your instructor!
Hi! I am Ms. Heather! I am a licensed and certified pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist, a mom to two teenage boys, and a native Buffalonian! Helping families learn, make connections, and find joy together is my passion in life. I love being able to teach strategies and activities that can be used throughout the day to build speech, language, and social skills. Play and music are the best activities to support learning - and the most fun way to spend a day! I believe EVERY child is a special individual and EVERY parent benefits from a supportive community! I cannot wait to meet you and your little person!
Class Reviews
“Ms. Heather is so much fun to be around! My daughter came into the class not knowing how to interact with other kids and quickly learned how to play and share with others. She always looked forward to coming to class and seeing her friends! We have seen an increase in the number of words she can say and she is babbling away ready to say more!”
— Megan, parent“My daughter loved attending Happy Talk class, and it was such a fun thing to do together with her. Heather works extremely hard to make the class welcoming for everyone, engaging, and fun. The lessons, themes, and props are all top notch, and my daughter absolutely loved the different activities they got to do during class. My daughter warmed up to Heather immediately because of her caring, genuine, and warm demeanor. Heather answered questions I had about my daughter's speech, and I know that if I ever have a question in the future, I can go to her. We are very grateful for the Happy Talk classes. Thank you Heather!
— Rachel, parent“Miss Heather is incredible! My son went through 2 sessions with happy talk. He looked forward to class every week. Somehow during class, my son was so chatty, constantly saying new words in class that he never said at home. He also picked up signs so easily. Out of my 4 kids he was the easiest to communicate with at this young age. Highly recommend Happy Talk with Miss Heather!”
— Christie, parent“Happy Talk class is fun, inclusive, very easy going, and a great way to meet other families. My 15 mo old said “bubble” for the first time in class, and the sweetest part was seeing everyone acknowledge and cheer for him.”

Happy Talk classes are intentionally designed for specific age groups to support safety, engagement, and a positive experience for all families. We understand childcare isn’t always available, so sibling attendance may be permitted on a CASE-BY-CASE BASIS when:
there is adequate space in the class
the sibling can remain with their caregiver at all times
the overall class experience will not be disrupted
Siblings may require a discounted rate if they attend regularly. They may not be able to attend if class is at or near capacity. Please reach-out to discuss these options.

Not at all! Children are all different - some learn best seated and focused, but some learn best while on the move. We do ask that parents and caregivers stay close to their children, (if they go, you go with them), since classes are held at local businesses and we don’t want any type of mishaps!
-
Nope! Classes are fully inclusive and designed to allow all children to benefit. That being said - YOU know your child and their tolerance for busy, stimulating environments best! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me to discuss the best possible class for your child.
-
I want everyone in the class to have the best possible experience - including room to move and some individualized attention from the teacher (me!). For those reasons, all classes are capped at 8 students and their families.

Happy Talk classes are not the same as individualized speech therapy. In speech sessions, families and caregivers work closely with providers to target specific areas of development and improve communication skills (speech, language, social skills, etc.). While Happy Talk does not look for individual children to reach specific developmental milestones in class, it is an excellent way to support your child’s communication development in a fun, supportive, social environment!

Come as you are! This is a very supportive environment and you will be surrounded by other parents going through the exact same stage of life as you! Be prepared to sing and laugh and make memories!
